Strength & Performance Guide for Choosing the Right Boat Rope
Not sure which boat rope size is best for your needs? Use this guide to find the perfect fit based on tensile strength, weight capacity, and typical applications. (Estimates Only)
The Working Load Limit (WLL) guide for polypropylene boat ropes is based on a 5:1 safety factor recommended for marine applications (calculated as Breaking Strength ÷ 5).
Breaking Strength = Measures the maximum force a material can withstand before breaking.
Tensile Strength = Measures how much a material can deform before breaking.
Recommended Rope Lengths (Estimates Only)
• 10’ wide boat = 15’ boat line
• 15’ wide boat = 25’ boat line
